Who I am
My name is Jonathan Hasey, and my website address is: http://jonathanhasey.com. The following is suggested legal text, but the gist is that I’m only going to use data about you for purposes related to the ordinary running of a website. It may involve using third-parties to process information (such as payments, or anti-spam services), but I will not deliberately sell or otherwise use your information for unrelated purposes.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, it will collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Newsletter Subscriptions
To set up and process subscriptions, the subscriber’s email address will be used, as well as the ID of the post or comment (depending on the specific subscription being processed). In the event of a new subscription being initiated, some basic server data is collected, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address from which the subscribing user is viewing the page, and the URI which was given in order to access the page (REQUEST_URI and DOCUMENT_URI). This server data used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit the login page, the site will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, the site will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long your data is retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so any follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.
For users that register on this website (if any), the site will store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data about you stored on the site, including any data you have provided to the site. You can also request that personal data held about you be deleted. This does not include any data that is required to be kept for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Information about you is collected during the checkout process on this website’s store.
What information is collected
While you visit the site, the following information will be tracked:
- Products you’ve viewed: This will be used, for example, to show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: This will be used for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: If applicable, this will be used to estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
Cookies will also to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing the site.
When you make a purchase, you will be asked to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address (if applicable), email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. This information will be used for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Set up your account for the store
- Comply with any legal obligations, such as calculating taxes
- Improve store offerings
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
If you create an account, any information you supply, such as your name, address, email and phone number, will be stored, and will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
In general information is stored about you for as long as it is needed for the purposes for which it is collected and used, and it is not legally required to kept. For example, your order information will be stored for at least 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
Store comments or reviews will also be stored, if you choose to leave them.
Who has access
Only those users who have been designated as Administrators or Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Such users have access to this information in order to fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

Payments are accepted through a variety of payment processors. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed on to the selected processor, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
